Trip Plan

1 - KITULGALA

Upon arrival, meet your driver who will transport you to beautiful Kitulgala to check in to your cozy hotel. After lunch, climb into a dugout canoe and cross the Kalani River, then begin the hike into the surrounding lowland rainforest. Keep your eyes peeled for the many exotic species of animals, birds, lizards and trees before heading back to your hotel for dinner and a good night sleep.

2 - NUWARA ELIYA

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel before embarking for the green hills of tea country. Your journey includes a stop at the roaring Devon and St Clair Waterfalls, as well as a tour around a tea factory and a stroll through nearby Victoria Park. Finally, you WIll arrive in the pretty hillside town of Nuwara Eliya, where you may enjoy dinner and a comfortable night in a colonial-style hotel.

3 - UDAWALAWE

Its an early start this morning as you cross Hortons Plain to reach Sri Lanka highest point, where you will stop for a hearty picnic breakfast amid gorgeous scenery. As you hike across the plain, look out for the monkeys, lizards and deer that roam freely. In the afternoon, you will make tracks for Udawalawa National Park for a sunset safari drive and overnight stay.

4 - YALA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast in Udawalawe, its time to move on to another of Sri Lankas national parks. Once you have checked in at your lodgings, enjoy an afternoon drive through Yala National Park in search of its elusive leopards. In the evening, relax and enjoy dinner in the park, where you will stay for the night.

5 - YALA NATIONAL PARK

Explore the remainder of Yala National Park by jeep this morning, before enjoying a tasty lunch under its abundant foliage. In the afternoon, make your way to Bundala National Park, a wetland famous for crocodiles and many species of rare indigenous birds. Head back to your comfortable lodgings at Yala for dinner and a good night sleep.

6 - SINHARAJA FOREST RESERVE

After breakfast in Yala National Park, you will head to the lowland rainforest at Sinharaja where you will discover the rich ecosystem of trees, flowers, insects, butterflies and birds. Named for the legendary Sinhalese kings of ancient times, this area is particularly mystic and beautiful. Enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay nearby.

7 - NEGOMBO

After breakfast, say goodbye to the rainforest and head to the coastal town of Negombo. Check in to your oceanfront hotel and spend the afternoon exploring the Dutch canals for a fascinating cross-section of Sri Lankan life. Enjoy dinner by the sea and one final night in this gorgeous country.

8 - DEPARTURE

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before your driver escorts you to the airport in time to check in for your onward journey, either back home or onto your next exciting destination.
