Today you unlock the secrets behind Thailand’s delicious cuisine with a Thai cooking class, held in a cooking school by the river. Select fresh ingredients from the organic gardens, then prepare Thai favourites in this hands-on activity. The wonderfully fragrant and brightly-hued flower market is next on the itinerary, where garlands and bundles of fresh flowers are trucked in from the north. After that, it’s onto bustling Chinatown for dinner, where the city’s best Chinese seafood draws tourists and locals alike.

In the morning we embark on a trip to nearby Kanchanaburi, just a couple of hours’ drive from Bangkok. It’s here the infamous Death Railway crosses the Bridge on the River Kwai, now a peaceful and solemn memorial to the POWs of World War II. Next up, its a visit to the Mon Tribal Village to enjoy cultural performances and some traditional Mon food, then to the breathtaking Erawan Waterfall. To truly appreciate the serenity of this beautiful city, guests can check into The Float House, a luxurious resort situated on the River Kwai.
